In case you haven’t heard, there is an initiative brought about by private business owners in the area to promote Richmond Hill as a community. If this idea is new to you, don’t worry – you can catch up on the skinny here.

In the interest of full disclosure, I have agreed to be a member of the interim board. Why? Well, first I think the idea is sound and second I think I can be a useful party in looking at the particulars – not to mention associating with the other phenom folks on the committee.

If you want to check out the actual marketing plan from Robertson and Markowitz, participate, or just see what it is all about, meet us at Glazer’s at 4:30PM, Tuesday, February 19th.

Many of the ladies from the Richmond Hill Women’s Business Alliance were there too.

The crew at the Richmond Hill Magazine has done a wonderful job showcasing local businesses, people, events and places.

The announcement was made that the Magazine would be shifting from its quarterly time line to a bimonthly publication.

With all that coverage, we can’t wait to see who shows up at next year’s party!

I told you guys a while back they would be breaking ground this fall. As developments are wont, even in Georgia, it has hit some minor setbacks of the paperwork variety. But, I have been assured that they are moving forward and excited about things to come.

In an encouraging show of progress, the website is up. I would love to tell you how fabulous a site it is, but the web developer is my friend, it’s her birthday, so I am biased. So, you are just going to have to clicky clicky on over there and check it out for yourself. Then come on back here and tell me what you think.

I had the awesome opportunity to attend the start up meeting of a new BNI (Business Network International) chapter forming up in the area. Clyde Usher of Applied Insight Management was kind enough to extend me an invitation.

BNI chapters focus on assisting area business people in creating a referral based business.

Allen Edwards, President of Hi Q Networking, is currently a member of the only other chapter in Savannah. As BNI only allows for one member from each particular business category, he understands the need for a new chapter so that others (such as myself) can participate.

The meetings are held weekly. We have currently set the time for 11:30 on Wednesdays. Allen is looking into procuring the Shoney’s at the interchange of Hwy 204 and I-95. If that changes, it will be posted.

Spots for the business category are filled on a “first come, first serve” basis. If you are interested in joining, attending, or asking more questions, just drop an email.

For those unacquainted with BNI, you can find more information on the website.
